Background

After twenty years of being at our wonderful diamond off Kingsbury Drive Bundoora we will be relocating Charles La Trobe College a little further down Kingsbury Drive. This diamond has given us much pleasure over the past 20 years. Indeed it has been a drawcard to all passionate baseball players due to its magnificent facilities. The 2022 winter baseball season is the final one for baseball on this ground.

In August 2021 a working group consisting of representatives from La Trobe University Baseball Club, Preston Baseball Club, Baseball Australia, La Trobe University, Charles La Trobe College, and designers worked collaboratively to develop and agree on plans for our new home. The team worked within a number of standard State Government project protocols including a confidentiality agreement which has limited the information the club has been able to share about the new facilities to date.

Through this consultation process, LTUBC 2021 committee members have contributed feedback and design ideas; many of which have been incorporated into the final design. We are pleased to be able to say we are looking forward to having some amazing club rooms and other facilities.

Signs of construction of these new facilities are now underway. Our new home is due for completion in mid to late 2022. July 20th, but that is subject to change. Our new diamond will be a multi-purpose all synthetic baseball diamond, elite level moveable mound and a soccer pitch.  We will be located just down the road from the current baseball diamond on vacant land at the Charles La Trobe College site on Kingsbury Drive.
